General Dictionary of Geology

General Introduction

The majority of the terms in this dictionary are geological, however, there is also terminology pertaining to geophysics, biology, astrophysics, and geography. Geology is a fascinating subject for learning about the history of the Earth, creature evolution, ancient Earth life, and former Earth conditions, as well as finding mines, coal, and oil deposits beneath the surface. Petrogeologists research geology in order to locate a mine, coal, or oil resource.

Geophysics scientists use physical experiments in a specific geological structure made up of certain rocks and minerals to determine the physical characteristics of Earth components such as magnetism, seismicity, elasticity, and Earth thermodynamics. Geologists study biology to trace the historical evolution of creatures from their initial appearance to the present. Geographers also research geology in order to identify spatial phenomena on the Earth's surface that have been generated or influenced by a series of geological events.

We believe that this dictionary will be of great use in providing a general understanding of numerous geology words. There is no other human creation in the world that is as perfect as this dictionary. We apologize for any mistakes that we missed while writing this dictionary, and we trust that any error we made did not detract from the dictionary's role as a guide to understanding geological words.

Thank you for making use of this dictionary.
